A minor demon of vice, Phalloide is rather a happy-go-lucky, take things as they come kind of spirit. Phall was kicked out of Heaven during the war between the Almighty and Lucifer for not taking sides. Now, after going AWOL from the Hell, he’s hiding out in the body of Sebastián, a mercenary swordsman and desperately trying not to bring attention to himself. After all, one of his greatest desires is not to be sent to Hell again.

While very intelligent and bounding with other-worldly knowledge, he spends more time thinking with his groin than with his head. He reacts very quickly on his feet to situations around him, but can’t plan ahead to save his own hide.

Stoic, strong, learned, and somewhat lonely, André is one of Rook’s Claw top drill instructors. He’s been part of the company for ten years, fighting his way up from the pedes rank to campidoctor as well as being one of the most respected officers of the company. He’s none too fond of Sebastián (Phalloide) when the two first meet, but quickly finds a friend and partner in the unruly fellow.

André is very well educated and has a taste for the finer things in life. While far from being a book worm, he has amassed an enormous collection of books, scrolls, and statuary of antiquity which are all stored in his villa at Raven’s Creek. He is a honorable man, who takes pride in his abilities as a swordsman, and as a tactician.

Phalloide’s “test”. Beautiful and somewhat exotic looking, Melantha is a lowly peasant girl of mixed-blood (Italian/Arab). She was sold by her own father as an indentured servant to Campidoctor André and Ducinarius Magus Sebastián.

Melantha is shy and too reclusive for her own good (at least as far as Phall is concerned). While she is very hungry for knowledge, she has been hindered by her self-doubting opinion of her own worth.
