6 issue limited comic book series
by Christina "Smudge" Hanson
After the fall of the Roman Empire, before the rise of the
Carolingian Empire, during the time of the Idle Kings, a minor
demon of vice, Phalloide, was unwittingly let loose onto the
mortal world. He took to his liberty from Hell like a sailor
on shore-leave; at least until he found out that he'd just
been conscripted.
Now, a Magus in a former Roman Auxiliary turned mercenary
company, Rook's Claw, the world's first conscientious objector
is finding things on the plane of mortals are not entirely
black and white.
Then, out of the blue, Phalloide is approached by the Angel
Azeal, who tells the demon that Heaven is willing to extend
his leave of Hell if he passes a single, simple test. If he
can keep his libido in check, that is.

48 page Conclusion!
Sebastian's gone! Philotanus have forced Phalloide from his sanctuary
with Andre and Melantha. But when a patrol of Pedes brings Sebastian back
to the Campidoctor, Andre finds that he's not the magus that he's come
to know...
Welcome to Raven's Creek, winter camp of Rook's Claw. The threesome of Andre,
Malantha and Sebastian settle in, and Andre's mind turns
from the yearly campaigns to even a tougher task; getting
his home ready for oncoming long winter nights.
But Sebastian's having second thoughts. Things are good for him right
now. And he knows that they can't stay good much longer. It doesn't help
that he keeps feeling that something dark is looming over his shoulder.
Keep Phalloide's libido in check indeed! Easier
said than done with such a beautiful flower like Melantha
sitting next to him. But Phall keeps his whits and
instead retreats to the local brothel. After all,
he's not about to botch up Azeal's test in which Melantha
seems to be a key.
André, however, has diffrent goals for the
evening. While Sebastián's away, the Campidoctor
starts probing into who, or what, his "partner"
really is. But what's André to do when he finds
out that the Magus Sebastián isn't a mage at
all. Truth hurts!
Ah, this is the life for Phalloide!
Three meals a day, spitting fire & brimstone as much
as he pleases, and now he's found himself a real piece
of beef of a boy-toy!
But his mood turns quite sour when Philotanus find
him again. Philotanus takes delight in yanking Phalloide's
chain during the worst time possible, as Phall begins
his "test" from Azeal. In the end, it'll be up to
André to straiten things out.
Campidocter André thought he had everything.
He's a high ranking officer of Rook's Claw, he's living
comfortably on the march with his salary and stippance,
and he has the respect of the entire cohort.
But things are changing in his life. He is not a
happy camper. And his troubles have a name, Pedes
Sebastián!
He hates Sebastián with a passion. After all,
the twit is climbing the ranks simply by existing!
A feat that took André ten years to achieve!
But now, after Sebastián's sterling performance
during the skirmish with King Chilperic, André's
been assigned to baby-sit the bastard! It's Magus
vs. Master-at-Arms as personalities collide.
The Devil makes work for idle hands. Heaven too,
for that matter. Wanting only to escape from the boredom
that is his post, Brother Peter devises the perfect
scheme to get summoned to Rome, presenting a trapped
demon to the local bishop. But the Angel Azeal has
other plans for this minor demon of vice, Phalloide.
Now, Phalloide's free... sort of. No sooner had he
escaped from Hell than he finds himself caught marching
in the middle of a mercenary company, Rook's Claw.
Hiding out in the body of Pedes Sebastián,
he tries to keep a low profile. After all, the last
thing he wants to be thrown back to Hell. And then,
the last being on Earth he wants to see finds him,
Azeal.
