Elethrayra,
to the northeast of Siruis, was mostly an agricultural country.
Sitting on the continent's breadbasket, and being populated
by, well, rabbits, it has always had a high population.
When the Felious Empire, commanded by Houman the Great,
took control of Elethrayra, it was discovered that, while
growing a seeming abundance of food, Elethrayra barely had
enough to go around. Drastic measures were taken to decease
the population. Most of Elethrayrian noble lines were found
"without heirs" and their estates and holdings
were given to "heroes" of the Felious Invasion.
As a result many folk have scattered across the continent
looking for safe havens away from the Feloius Empire.
Welcome
to the Kingdom of Sirius, Land of the Dogs. A far sized
feudal nation, it's chief exports are furs, wood, and, in
times of war, mercenaries. Guided by the Wise King Sirius
IX, the county has started to expand in its sea going activities
into the Sea of Dolphins. Directly to the east lies the
Dragon-Back Mountains, a treacherous, impassable mountain
range, ruled by the Dragon Clan (and as far as anyone else
is concerned, they can keep it). The Kingdom Elethrayra
to the northeast however, is of far greater worry.
Once a staunch ally, Elethrayra has, in recent years, been
subjugated by the Cats of the Felious Empire.
Yenish
(Valkyn's country of Origin) is a principality of
the Salmutrnian Empire in the east. The Raj owes fealty
to the Shah of Salmturn in the form of yearly tribute
of gold, spices, magics of all kinds, fine horses,
dancing girls, ect. The subjects of the Shah are pledged
in the Shah's defense, and asked not to war on their
neighbors (too much). The principalities however,
do love a good fight, and look (with religious vigor)
for any excuse to have a spat with each other.
Legend
states that Yenish and Akalre (Rani's country of origin)
were founded by two brothers exiled from their homeland
after the defeat of their father in a civil war. Each
principality claims to founded by the elder brother,
and therefore the legitimate holder of the combined
lands. Truth is that the two brothers (who hated each
other's guts with a passion only reserved for kinfolk)
actually funded the Tel-Magi (Valkyn's mystic sect)
and the Magi-Telnar (Rani's mystic sect), which are
far more powerful politically. Both sects uses their
Raj as a puppet in their attempt to harm, demoralize,
and generally annoy each other, but not destroy. After
all, then they wouldn't have anyone to harm, demoralize,
and generally annoy. Ah -- family politics....
