[Synopsis] [Current Episode] [News & Information]

An ongoing short story series
by Christina "Smudge" Hanson and Ed Garcia

Medieval Romance and Rabbit Politics . . .

Prince Ebin Elethrayra thought he had finally put his life back together after the loss of both his kingdom of Elethrayra and royal family to Emperor Houman of the Felious Empire. Protected and tutored by the mystical knights, Lord Valkyn and Lady Rani, and loved deeply by the enchanting peasant girl, May, he felt at peace in his foster kingdom of Sirius. But Houman the Great has finally turned his eyes on Ebin's new homeland. Ebin, with May forever by his side, must reenter the deadly world of medieval court politics, in a desperate attempt to protect everything he now holds dear.

Ebin & May currently runs (roughly) monthy as part of Furrlough, published by Radio Comix and is re-published on the web at BackBreaker Studios Comic Archive.

The Ebin & May Grahipc Novels are here!
Yeah! We've now got a small amount of the long awaited Ebin & May Vol.1; Ebin's Exile Graphic Novel in stock and available for sale, with more on the way.
Boo! We discovered a printing error. One of the pages got duplicated over another page. We are so sorry this happened. But If you order from us we will include a copy of the missing page inserted into the GN at the point were the page needs to be. For those who got the book and want the missing page, we have a PDF you can download here marked so that you can cut it down to size. We've also gone in and made that entire episode, Harvest, permanently free to view in the comic archive.

Okay, so I've been a bad little dragon in maintaining this site....But I've been real busy, too. Liberty from Hell #1 just hit the stands, and I'm currently putting the last little touches on #3 before sending it out to the good folks at Radio Comix. The Ebin & May animation short is done, and I'm waiting on the last bit of music from Van before posting it. I'm already starting on my next animation project, and should have a site up for it soon. And it looks like I might have full time employment again. =IKE!=

What does this mean for the Ebin & May short stories? Well, there might be a Graphic Novel sometime in the near future, but until Liberty is finished on my end, Ebin & May will be put on hold. Note; that's hold, not stop. I've set up my schedule so that as soon as Liberty is done (I'm already at the half way mark for the series) I'll pick up Ebin & May and finish it in one fell swoop. No more trying to juggle it around other projects! Look for it to restart running in Furrlough mid 2004.

Still working on the mirco-payment website for Ebin & May. The process is very much a two-steps forward, one step back situation. But we are moving forward.

I'm also mildly thinking about combining all the comic sites into the main BackBreaker site in an attempt to keep my maintenance as low as possible so that I can focus on creating new stories and artwork. But we all know what happened the last time I did this type of thing.... Still thinking.

In other news, I've turned in the last issue of BMI (Issue 8) to Radio. Yeah! Now onto the next project on the docket - Liberty From Hell. Radio's already solicited it for an August release. I should have a web-space up for it soon so check back for updates.

But, do not fear, Ebin & May is still chugging along. I'm currently waiting on pages to come in from Ed for episode #23.

As I've muttered before, I've been busily working on and Ebin & May short; the first episode, Something to Remember, in fact. Well, as the project is slowly plodding along, I can finally post the first tid-bits of what I've so diligently been crafting. Here are some sample frames and a quick bit of animation. Nothing to really write home about yet, but I'm trying to lock down all the simple stuff first before tackling all the complex, mind numbing TD work. As of this writing, all the basic animation has been complete, and all the shots laid out.

Screen shots have been moved to my VCL account. -10/10/03

Well, due to a recent business decision, I'm going in for the next month or so and liquidating all my furry table prints. I currently have up on the auction block my entire set of color Ebin & May 8½"x11" prints. Come check it out! These are beautiful reproductions of the original acrylic painting, including the piece that was used for the cover of Furrlough #103. I've also got a set of Desert Rose (my African Wild Dog singer) prints up for auction too.

Finally got around to updating the Episode Guide. I've also updated the sample pages for Episode 3: Cinderella Complex so that you wouldn't need the mouse rollover to read them.

In other news, I'm also working on a new system to upload all the episodes of Ebin & May for on-line viewing. This will be a paid section of the site (a whole whopping $0.25 a month subscription to help offset maintenance costs) and will updated monthly. Also, I'll be running the on-line stuff well behind what's currently running in Furrlough so that there will not be any publication conflicts. I'll post more information when it becomes available.

Well, I want to apologize for the current sparseness of Ebin & May. Ed and I are currently doing our best to keep on top of what Radio Comix has been publishing but with our time wrapped up in our other project, Bureau of Mana Investigation, it's become increasingly harder to squeeze Ebin & May in. However, don't fret. Neither of us have stopped nor forgotten Ebin & May and more episodes are in production even as I type this. Please be patient. In the mean time, you might want to check out our other limited series, Bureau of Mana Investigation, which is also being published Bimonthly by Radio Comix.

=ARRG!=
in my vain attempt to revamp the site to make it easier to manage and update, I completely hosed it for anyone still using Netscape 4.x. I apologize deeply to any Netscape user trying vainly to view this site for the past month+.

Wow! Furrlough issue no. 103 is out with an Ebin & May cover. And it looks great!
Inside is Episode 10: the Stone of Miracles, part 2.
As of Issue #63, Ebin & May will no longer be running in Yarf!. The publishing schedule at Furrlough has quickly caught up to what we've done for the fanzine and the story will now jump over to Radio Comix fully. But don't fret, all you Yarf! readers. Ed and I have something new we're tinkering around with to replace Ebin & May.
