I am trying so hard to find the second issue
of BMI. None of the comic book stores have it. Is there
any way to order it from you. The art is fantastic. I have
never been interested in comics before. You have done an
amazing job.
Smudge:
Thanks for writing Rhonda! Sorry #2 is being so hard
to locate. Most shops tend to pre-order very few #2's of
anything since they need to order them before they get #1
on the shelves. Try asking the store manager at one of your
local shops to re-order a copy for you. This way, he/she
also knows to order an extra #3, #4, ect. next time around
just so you can buy it from him.
Failing that, you can order it through: Rabbit
Valley Comic Shop (an online retailer) http://store.rabbitvalley.com
It's currently under new releases. Or you can get it directly
through Radio Comix (the Publishers) http://www.radiocomix.com/
It's listed under their catalog for Creator Owned Titles.
At this particular moment, I'm afraid I don't
have any #2's to sell. I haven't even seen the issue as
of yet :( My publisher has yet to send me my copies. But
when I do get them, I'll be posting them for sale on-line
as well. Thanks for your letter. I'm glad you've liked the
book so far and I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the story.
Good luck.
I just got done thoroughly reading this comic
and I am now a fan. Did Smudge do all the pencils? It says
Bryce Nakagawa is a guest illo, but where did he draw? When
does the next one come out?
Smudge:Did Smudge do all the pencils? Well, not completely....
Ed and I have a *really* strange way of working. I do all
the characters/story/layouts (including the character inks)
and Ed does all the backgrounds, boarders, and techy stuff.
Kind of a Sims/Gerheard thing.
It says Bryce Nakagawa is a guest : illo,
but where did he draw? Inside backcover, smack in the
middle of the essay. Actually, he drew it years ago. I showed
it to him last year at Further Confusion 2001 saying I wanted
to use in the book and he screamed in horror. You know how
artists are when you show them old stuff. ;p
From Tim Fischer
(Radio Comix Message Board):
Bureau Agents,
I enjoyed the first issue of Bureau of Mana
Investigation thoroughly! Interesting story; great art;
nice overall package. Strange that a group of demons and
devils are stealing firearms and ammunition. I'm really
curious to see where that leads.
I would have liked to have been given a clear
definition of "Mana," however. I'm assuming that it's a
sort of magic.
I found it difficult to believe that Holly
(who seems to be a social worker of some kind) would defend
a group of people who murdered policemen and robbed a gun
shop. I guess she has her reasons...
Nonetheless, I was very impressed with the
first issue, and I anxiously await issue #2! Keep up the
good work.
Tim
Smudge:
Thanks Tim. It's always good to here how good (or bad) I'm
doing. Feedback like this is the only way I can get better
as a story teller.
I would have liked to have clear definition
of "Mana," Mana: In Biblical text it is defined as "the
breath or blessings of god." Now a days, its a catch
all generic term used in gaming and fantasy literature for
the energy used to create magic. Rather fuzzy and nebulas,
I know. It's used a lot in anime too. I guess since I've
been a role-playing geek and fantasy nerd all my life, I
never thought to write in a definition for what I perceived
as a common term into the current story arc. Oppsies. Much
forgiveness asked.
